Refurbishment 2025
We are going to be undergoing a complete internal refurbishment in order to bring our surgery up to date with the latest standards, this includes all of our consulting rooms as well as public circulation areas. The work will take place between June and October 2025 alongside similar works to the neighbouring Garth Surgery.
During the renovation work, which will take place in three phases, we will lose access to a number of our consultation rooms. In order to maintain a continuous service, we have made subtle changes to how we work in order to minimise disruption to patients:
- GPs will undertake some of their clinics remotely in order to free up space within the building. This means you may be offered a telephone consultation instead of coming into the practice (where appropriate).
- GPs will deliver dedicated face to face clinics in the Practice, which will hopefully enhance access for patients who need to be seen in person, however you may need to wait longer or have less flexibility with regards date/time of appointment if you want/need to see a specific GP.
- Your appointment may not be in the same room you usually go to, so watch the call board carefully for details. Our clinicians will be moving around the building as different parts undergo renovation.
- Some of the appointments with our nursing staff will be carried out remotely where appropriate, including some long-term condition reviews and consultations that require discussion rather than physical intervention.
- Visiting health professionals and staff working for our Primary Care Network may now be working from a different site, this may require patients travelling to other locations for their consultations with these staff. You will be informed if this affects you when making your appointment. Please check confirmation messages closely so you don’t attend the wrong location.
This work will allow us to operate from a bright, modern building compliant with the latest infection prevention and control standards but will inevitably disrupt our day to day operations. Access to the building will remain the same for patients, although this may change as work on an extension to our neighbouring practice progress, if and when this does happen we will keep you notified.
We are confident that the steps we have taken will minimise disruption to patients and allow us to continue to practice the same high quality of continuous care to patients of all ages. If for any reason you find this is not the case please tell a member of staff and we will look into this further.
